
How does the service operate in practice?
As easy as this: you email us details of the vacancy you wish to advertise. We confirm receipt. Within about an hour we'll have emailed you with the recommended media, best day to advertise, and confirmed the costs. Approve that and we design the ad and email it for your approval. You will see exactly how the ad will look before it goes anywhere. Your logos and corporate style instructions will be adhered to. Give us any last minute amendments and we'll transmit the ad to the media and invoice you after it has appeared for the same media cost as doing all the hard work yourself.
Will you write the text or do we have to?
Either. Most clients send us the precise text they want us to use. Others appreciate that we have staff copywriters who will write the text for you. You can send us half a dozen bullet points to expand upon or a detailed job and person spec to condense. We don't mind either.
Our advertising is mainly regional press. Still interested?
Absolutely. Whether you're interested in the Western Mail or the Daily Mail, the Goole Times or the Sunday Times, we operate across all media.
What about online sites?
We advise impartially on online sites. Like all media, some are good, some not so. We'll tell you the best media for your position irrespective of whether it is online or in print.
So you cover every media?
Yes. And this includes all professional and technical press, broadcast, outdoor and transportation. If something else is likely to be more effective, expect us to point it out to you. We have one client who is interested in newly qualified accountants. The best way to reach them is to write to them, not advertise to them. As a DMARC approved agency for our direct marketing abilities they can expect us to produce very effective direct mail shots too.
What do you charge for recruitment ads?
A flat low fee. We don't mention it here as our competitors see this site too but we'll be happy to confirm it to you if you contact us at recruitment@cmsadvertising.co.uk
This fee covers design, artwork and all amendments. If you require copywriting input we'll be happy to tell you the flat fee for that too.
I've been told the rates and they seem low. How come?
Because they are subsidised by the media commission we receive. Allow us to explain. CMS is a fully recognised advertising agency with national media recognition status. This means we are one of the minority of agencies empowered to book advertising direct with all media and receive a commission (read discount) for doing so. This commission is usually 10% and subsidises our service allowing us to charge just a modest additional amount for high quality studio produced artwork.
My colleague thinks we could buy media cheaper if we did it ourselves.
No chance. The national contracts we have in place with the media prohibit them selling space cheaper to non recognised agencies or direct advertisers. You can be confident our rates will be equal to or exceed the best you could possibly find. In very exceptional circumstances some clients may have had a special local rate in place but the media will still honour such rates booked through CMS if the agency is made aware of them.
